The board

82 deliverables, 399 steps, 9 lanes. 108 approvals are still open and 2 deliverables are past their date. Filter by who owns it or by lane; click any row to open its steps.

Read me — what this board can do

Every change here is written through immediately — nothing is stored on this page. If you have the link with ?k= on the end you are in edit mode and the controls below appear; without it the board is complete but read-only.

Finding things

When
Defaults to Now — this week and next. Later is work that cannot start yet, No date is work nobody has scheduled, Parked and Nudged are things deliberately set aside.
Owner
Picking a person opens every card and marks their steps with a blue rail.
Lane
One stream of work. Click a lane heading to fold it; folded lanes still show their counts, and the board remembers which you folded.
Find
Searches titles, notes, owners and step text. Paste a #number to jump to one task.
Gates only / High only
Gates are approvals — nothing behind one starts until it clears. High is priority set on the deliverable.

Changing things

The date
On a deliverable it is a calendar — click it, pick a day, it saves.
done / undo
On any step. Ticking the last one does not close the deliverable; that is deliberate.
+7d
Pushes a step out a week. A step with no date is refused — agree one first.
Comments
On a deliverable or on any single step. Put your name in once and it is remembered.

Taking something off the board

Three ways, none of which delete anything, all reversible, all leaving a comment in Vikunja saying who did it.

nudge
Not this week, and it asks you why. Comes back by itself on Monday — the board clears expired nudges on every refresh.
later
Sets a start date, which says “cannot begin before”. It is not a deadline, so nothing turns red. Click now to bring it back.
park
Real work, no timing view at all. No date invented. Sits under the Parked filter until you unpark it.

Worth knowing

  • The board rebuilds every 20 minutes, so it cannot go stale.
  • A deliverable is a thing that ships. Its steps are the handoffs inside it.
  • The #number after each title is that task's permanent id — quote it and anyone can find the same thing.
  • Files are linked, never attached.
